Ps 20:2-3
In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly. Thou hast given him his heart's desire.
Ps 20:4
For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.
Glory Be to the Father…
In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly. Thou hast given him his heart's desire.
Ps 20:2-3
In virtúte tua, Dómine, lætábitur justus: et super salutáre tuum exsultábit veheménter: desidérium ánimæ ejus tribuísti ei.
Ps 20:4
Quóniam prævenísti eum in benedictiónibus dulcédinis: posuísti in cápite ejus corónam de lápide pretióso.
Glória Patri…
In virtúte tua, Dómine, lætábitur justus: et super salutáre tuum exsultábit veheménter: desidérium ánimæ ejus tribuísti ei.
Grant us grace, we beseech thee, O Almighty God, to follow with zeal conformable thereto after the pattern of that great example of faith, thy blessed Martyr Peter, who, for the spreading of the same faith, did so run as to obtain the palm of martyrdom.
Through our Lord…
Præsta, quǽsumus, omnípotens Deus: ut beáti Petri Mártyris tui fidem cóngrua devotióne sectémur; qui, pro ejúsdem fídei dilatatióne, martýrii palmam méruit obtinére.

Lesson from the second letter of St Paul the Apostle to Timothy
2 Tim. 2:8-10; 3:10-12.
Beloved: Remember that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and was descended from David; this is my Gospel, in which I suffer even to bonds, as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound. This is why I bear all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with heavenly glory. But you have closely followed my doctrine, my conduct, my purpose, my faith, my long-suffering, my love, my patience, my persecutions, my afflictions; such as befell me at Antioch, Iconium and Lystra - such persecutions as I suffered, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. And all who want to live piously in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Timótheum
2 Tim 2:8-10; 3:10-12.
Ps 88:21-23
I have found David, My servant, with My holy oil I have anointed him, that My hand may be always with him, and that My arm may make him strong.
℣. No enemy shall deceive him, nor shall the wicked afflict him. Alleluia, alleluia.
Ps 109:4
℣. You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchisedec. Alleluia.
Ps 88:21-23
Invéni David servum meum, óleo sancto meo unxi eum: manus enim mea auxiliábitur ei, et bráchium meum confortábit eum.
℣. Nihil profíciet inimícus in eo, et fílius iniquitátis non nocébit ei. Allelúja, allelúja
Ps 109:4
Jurávit Dóminus, et non pœnitébit eum: Tu es sacérdos in ætérnum, secúndum órdinem Melchísedech. Allelúja.
Allelúja, allelúja.
Ps 88:6.
The heavens shall confess thy wonders, O Lord: and thy truth in the church of the saints. Alleluia.
Ps 20:4
For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones. Alleluia.
Allelúja, allelúja.
Ps 88:6.
Confitebúntur cœli mirabília tua, Dómine: étenim veritátem tuam in ecclésia sanctórum. Allelúja.
Ps 20:4
Posuísti, Dómine, super caput ejus corónam de lápide pretióso. Allelúja.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matt 10:34-42
In that time: Jesus said to his disciples: Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And as a man's enemies shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it. He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man. And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum
Matt 10:34-42
Ps 8:6-7
Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour: and hast set him over the works of thy hands.
Ps 8:6-7
Glória et honóre coronásti eum: et constituísti eum super ópera mánuum tuárum, Dómine.
Graciously regard, O Lord, the prayers we offer thee, through the intercession of blessed Peter, thy Martyr; and keep ever under thy protection the champions of the faith.
Through our Lord…
Preces, quas tibi, Dómine, offérimus, intercedénte beáto Petro Mártyre tuo, cleménter inténde: et propugnatóres fídei sub tua protectióne custódi.

It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:

Vere dignum et justum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine sancte, Pater omnípotens, ætérne Deus: per Christum, Dóminum nostrum. He who wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matt 16:24
Qui vult veníre post me, ábneget semetípsum, et tollat crucem suam, et sequátur me.
May the Sacrament, O Lord, which we, the faithful people have received, hold us in safe keeping, and through the intercession of thy blessed Martyr Peter defend us from all assaults of the enemy.
