Lesson from the book of Wisdom
Wis 5:1-5
Then shall the just stand with great constancy against those that have afflicted them, and taken away their labours. These seeing it, shall be troubled with terrible fear, and shall be amazed at the suddenness of their unexpected salvation. Saying within themselves, repenting, and groaning for anguish of spirit: These are they, whom we had some time in derision, and for a parable of reproach. We fools esteemed their life madness, and their end without honour. Behold how they are numbered among the children of God, and their lot is among the saints.
Léctio libri Sapiéntiæ
Sap 5:1-5
Ps 123:7-8
Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Alleluja, alleluja.
Ps 67:4
And let the just feast, and rejoice before God: and be delighted with gladness. Alleluja.
Ps 123:7-8
Ps 67:4
Justi epuléntur, et exsúltent in conspéctu Dei: et delecténtur in lætítia. Alleluja.
Continuation ☩ of the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matt 16:24-27.
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For he who would save his life will lose it; but he who loses his life for My sake will find it. For what does it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, but suffer the loss of his own soul? For the Son of Man is to come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will render to everyone according to His conduct.
Sequéntia ☩ sancti Evangélii secúndum Matthǽum
Matt 16:24-27
In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Si quis vult post me veníre, ábneget semetípsum, et tollat crucem suam, et sequátur me.
Ps 149:5-6
The saints shall rejoice in glory: they shall be joyful in their beds. The high praise of God shall be in their mouth, alleluia.
(sed post Septuagesimam dicitur)
mouth.
Ps 149:5-6
Exsultábunt Sancti in glória, lætabúntur in cubílibus suis: exaltatiónes Dei in fáucibus eórum, allelúja.
(sed post Septuagesimam dicitur)
Exsultábunt Sancti in glória, lætabúntur in cubílibus suis: exaltatiónes Dei in fáucibus eórum.

Common
It is truly meet and just, and profitable unto salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks to Thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, through Christ, our Lord. Through whom the Angels praise Thy Majesty, the Dominions adore it, the Powers are in awe. Which the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify. And do Thou command that it be permitted us to join with them in confessing Thee, while we say with lowly praise:
Communis
Luke 12:4
And I say to you, my friends: Be not afraid of them who kill the body.
Luc 12:4
May this Communion, O Lord, cleanse us of sin, and, through the intercession of Your holy Martyrs Vitalis and Agricola, make us sharers of heavenly salvation.
Through our Lord…
